Academic Magnet High School!

We want to welcome you to the Raptor Family. Throughout the year, PIE, Partners in Education, your parent-teacher-student organization (PTSO), provides the parent body with key school communications, organizes volunteers to help support the teachers and staff as well as hosts and raises funding for many popular student programs that enhance the AMHS experience. Each year, we are excited to host events like end of quarter ice cream socials, Senior Celebrations and the Spring Picnic. We help fund grade-level events, class trips, teachers’ classroom needs and appreciation programs, and student competitions. Also, we keep a well-stocked variety of awesome Raptor wear. We hope you will join PIE as we work to build community and connections, and create an exemplary high school experience for all students. PIE is joined in supporting AMHS by the Academic Magnet Foundation (AMF), whose mission is to secure funding to help enhance the long-term excellence of AMHS by supporting leading-edge enrichment opportunities and ensuring the school’s high standards for quality, achievement and stewardship for years to come. Key initiatives funded by AMF include professional development for teachers, signature programs like Summer Scholars and Juniors Take Flight, and technology upgrades that may not be fully funded by CCSD.

PIE also works close with the School Improvement Council (SIC) whose purpose is to plan, monitor, and evaluate the best education for our children. SIC was created by the SC legislature more than 30 years ago to give each individual school a unified way for parents and the community to engage with their school. https://sic.sc.gov/

And what would a high school experience be without our amazing Raptor athletes. The AMHS Athletic Booster Club supports student athletes, coaches, and athletic programs, both on and off the fields.
